Up in the air somewhere

It's pretty much official that I need to stop becoming obsessed with things. Sometimes it's food, like when I got addicted to nutella...good times. Other times it's animal cushions....still going on. At the moment I seem to have 'thing' for ceramics - gold ceramics in particular. I'm not sure why but I just keep finding myself surrounded by pretty gold stuff, really I'm not complaining because - well - it's all really pretty and I love it! Today's pieces come from Up in the air somewhere a Chicago based studio that specialise in ceramics. Owner and designer Susan Dwyer studied Sculpture, and you really get a feel of form and shape in her pieces.

I love how simplistic her work is, the smooth shapes and small details, such as pops of colour and little windows really add something. The small imperfections in the bowls and jugs just add to the rustic vibe that you get from each and every piece but don't take away from the modernist feel as well. If I had too pick my best item...I'm sorry but it has to be the  beautifully crafted gold papier-mâché bowls above. I can't stop my obsession for gold at the moment and these tick all my boxs, wonderfully crafted, functional and gold! Check out all the collection here, even though I have shown pretty much her whole collection, I love it that much.
