Land of Nod - Frilly pink bedding

I'm trying to decide if it's ok for me to really want to buy this adorable bedding from Land of Nod. It's pink. It's frilly. It's ombre. What is not to like?! Land of Nod usually just do things to deck out - what would probably be – the coolest of kids rooms, but this blanket comes in a twin and queen size. To me that says adult! It reminds me of either a flamenco dancer or possibly The Princess and the Frog – only my favourite film! This would definitely be my princess bedding. Maybe when I have kids? Nope definitely ok to love it and buy it now!!

Urban Aviary

No matter how hard I try, one thing I just can't resist is anything sparkly. I'm like a magpie, I have so much pretty sparkly things but can never get enough. And now my eyes have lit up on this little beauty, a rough diamond snuggled in the grips of a rough thin silver band. This is right up my street, it's edgy, messy and all over the place a little bit like me. It's from Urban Aviary a brilliant little jewellery shop that sell stunning pieces that are simple and very on trend. I'm also a fan of this Black Tourmaline necklace, it's a rough rock surrounded by a long brass chain. I love this style of rough rocks and jewels and can't wait to get my hands on some!

Cowshed

Hello hello! I am back! Sorry I have been neglecting you the past week – I missed you! I went to reading this weekend and it was awesommmeeee but could not escape that grubby – muddy feeling. So yesterday I had the longest shower of my life ever and it was beautiful. I then proceeded to have a very long bath in which I used my saviour. Cowshed has been a favourite of mine for a long time, their saucy approach to body lotions and scrubs are the perfect solution to a long weekend. My personal favourite at the moment is their spearmint exfoliating sea salt scrub, the minty smell is the perfect wake up call and all the sea salt gets off that dead skin and mud. I love cowshed, mainly because their original spa is in an old cowshed. It's my life goal to go to one of their spas that are based all over the place, whether your from London, Berlin or New York you can wollow in their sumptuous smells for hours. Failing that, you can create your own little heaven at home, just like I have done on so many occasions.

Knitted Pouf

For some time now I have been a fan of the chunky knit trend sweeping through home furnishings, from cushions to throws chunky knit is in for those snuggly winter nights – yes I'm planning them already! I have had my eye out for some reasonably priced pieces, and these cute little pouf's fit the bill perfectly. They are from Habitat and are £100 each, they come in either square or round and a few different colour ways. My personal favourite is the round mustard yellow option, these are a perfect solution for homes where seating is minimal and they look adorable tucked up in the corner or in the centre of the room. The only downside is that you can't mix the colour options with the shapes! Booo!

Lostine - Wooden Cutting Board

There are some things in life that I find myself strangely drawn too. Anything animal related, different kinds of cheese, really big and complicated maps...the list is long. But one I have recently discovered is rustic looking kitchen things, first is was the Firo range from LSA and now I'm drawn to these wooden chopping boards from Lostine. Each one is a little bit different, they are sourced from various kinds of woods and in different sizes so there tends to be only 2 of that size and colour. Each one has a little leather handle/hook so you can keep it on display all year round. What I love about these is how natural the wood is, in order to keep in it's best condition it needs to be oiled, but the colour will change over time and use. I love this rustic and rough approach to cooking. Originally they are from Lostine but you can also buy them from SCP.

Katie's Attic

I have to admit I have a weird obsession with flowery teacups and saucers, I seem to hord them even though I have no idea what I will do with them. But Katie's Attic, puts to shame my hording away all of these plates, I feel like I should send them over so she can create some beautiful creations. These adorable little cake stands are all unique and hand made by Katie herself. And as a cat lover I am particularly a fan of her 'Percy and the Cake stand', I just love that little smug cat on top. All you need to make these perfect is a few cheeky cupcakes.

Leif - Marble Salt and Pepper Shakers

How insanely awesome are these Regencysalt and pepper marble shakers? They are so 90's, so retro and oh so cool. I have squirrelled them out on Leif, one of my favourite little browsers of all things pretty. But my favourite bits from here at the moment have to be these adorable little shakers, in a marble effect. I especially love the gold and pastel pair, I really don't think your tableware can get much more luxe than this! But the awesome stuff doesn't stop there, I'm also a huge lover of this glaze drip saucedish. So so fit.

Lil' Bub

The last few days I have found myself in a permanent state of the grumps – yep I'm one grumpy Soph right now! But it's ok because I have found the best thing ever too cheer me up. A cat called Lil' Bub. If you haven’t already met Lil' Bub, She is probably the most amazing cat ever. She was born with extra toes, big bulging green eyes and no teeth so her tongue hangs out in a constantly adorable fashion. Her blog consists of a heap load of photos of her looking adorable. And even better? She comes on totesand t-shirts. I need me one of these, I am particularly in love with the sunburst tote (top). Every time I see that little tongue I just want to cry with happiness! This is a sure fire way of getting rid of my grumps!

Yuval Tal - Chopped

I'm pretty excited today! I have just sorted out all the new domain and hosting for the new Fig Tea, so in a few weeks time I will be moving house to a spanking new site! I will keep you up to date on all the new additions and any changes when they come about, and maybe even a few sneaky previews!
But any way on a completely different note how amazing is this cute little table? It's made up of lots of sticks of wooden dowels and wrapped up in a metal ring. These ones are from Yuval Tal, and industrial themed design studio. Although these ones are amazing if your feelings a bit creative you could do this yourself! I love the use of the different colours to mix it up a little, each piece has a uniquely designed top. These would make a really cool little side table, although I don't think I would put my cuppa on it.

Pianca - Wall cupboards

I apologies in advance, at the moment I am on a real modernist/neat freak trip. I am loving the whole perfectly organised, clean and functional look. One look I am particularly loving is wall mounted storage cupboards. These ones from Pianca for me are just perfect, I love the mix of green and white in particular. This look allows for a lot of versatility, you can play around and create your own wall feature. In order to pull this off I think you really need a big white wall to feature it on, I personally like just sticking to two colours as well. I think what really draws me to this look is how graphically strong it is, its like having a grid on your wall! So, these ones are from Pianca, an italian design studio that are renowned for their stunning design solutions are amazing but maybe a little pricey. This kind of look can be created convincingly with a bit of imagination at a much lower budget (Head to Ikea!)

Sueng Yong Song - V4 Planter

How amazing are these?! I physically don't even know what to say about them apart from there amazing. End of. Form, function and durability are the key to these stunning planters from Sueng Yong Song. I have been a fan of his work a while, he is a perfectionist in everything he does and everything he creates just seems to make complete sense. The V4 plant pots have to be my favourite piece from him, the use of a wire frame creates an image of what could be. It has a mixture of a concrete and wooden base, I especially love the use of concrete. It's such a common material that's used in building, but can be so versatile and be made into something so beautiful. Another piece from him that I love is Boksh a versatile light that could be used as a table, a shelf or just a floor lamp. Check out all his work, you won't be disappointed!

Stone & Honey

I'm still on a bit of a geometric pattern frenzy at the moment. Triangles, cubes and straight lines are all the rage this year, and I am not ashamed to say I am completely enthralled with it. These beautiful pieces of jewellery from Stone &Honey fit right in with the trend. The mixture of different materials including gold, silver and crystals ensure a varied approach too each piece, but it still holds a really strong identity. The collection includes a host of different shapes and sizes, my particular highlights are the honeycomb necklaces, the clear quartz ring and the cape necklace. Above all though, my absolute favourite – that I might have to buy – are the Little Arches earrings. They are so adorable, and perfect for everyday wear – not too flashy but still unique and beautiful! Have a cheeky browse here.

Upholstery help!

So, I have just found (for a very thrifty £25) a new vintage chair. It's nothing massively special, I just loved the shape and style of it. But I am now in a monster predicament. How to upholster it?! The chair is above ( please ignore the super cool DVD's you see there... *cough*). Originally I was thinking something like the multi coloured stripes from Dransfield & Ross, I'm a sucker for those bright bold colours. Then I was thinking going for a more chevron pattern like these little beauties from Room Service LA, I love that cool grey and it would amazing in a light blue as well. My third option is to restore the wood to it's former glory and have a nicely patterned fabric like this light wood frame with an Ikat fabric, found on Toronto Life. So many options! If anyone out there has any ideas I would be happy to hear them! I am so awful at decision making! But for now it can stay being super comfy in the corner next to Lee Evans and The Lion King box set.

Mr Perswall

One thing that never fails too amaze me is my weird obsession with cartography. I don't know where it spawned from but I love maps from tube to mercator, all styles and eras enthral me completely, so pretty much everything to do with them I go crazy for. I was browsing through some of Mr Perswall's collection, they have so many different kinds of photographic wallpapers I was struggling to pick a favourite. Then I saw their map section. I'm sold! One of my favourites has to be this classic World Map, I'm a sucker for anything old and vintage so this was right up my street. However, my favourite map of all time has to be the London Tube map, sooo I also really love their tube wall as well. But above all, my absolute have to buy is the Star Map, it's just stunning, you could spend hours exploring it and still be finding more every time – plus I love that grey! Fitting your wall is nice and easy too, you just measure and pop in the details. On average each M2 is £27 so for an absolute statement piece, it's not too shabby! Like I say, I'm obsessed with the maps, but they have so many other options...they are endless! Browse through here.

Present & Correct

One thing I really wish I could do is be a massive neat freak. Im so envious of people who have a desk and everything is perfectly in place, nothing is out of line. In general i'm just a bit of a mucky pup – I always seem to just have my stuff everywhere is a tangled mess no matter how hard I try. But oh how I wish I was organised!! Perhaps I could learn a few lessons from Present & Correct, an online company who specialise is designer stationary and all those crazy rulers and compasses you had to use at school. They source vintage gems and design classics, from typewriters to notice boards, they have all the perfectionist stationary you need. I am particularly a fan of this steal desk rack...My life would be so much more organised with it!! They have so much cool stuff, and have the perfect mixture of new and old pieces. Have a little browse, and get your neat freak on!!
