I admit I'm not a massive drinker, I
occasionally like a glass of wine or a cheeky pint but I'm not big on
spirits. However, I could be persuaded by Roots spirits, a distillery
based in Southern Greece. Each bottle is full of 100% natural liquor
and just reading the description makes me dribble! Their Rakomelo
blend is full of honey, with a touch of cinnamon and cloves. It sound
like THE perfect drink to have warm by the fire at christmas time.
Plus each bottle is beautifully designed by Bob Studio, a studio
based in both London and Athens. I love this modern approach to
drinking with shed loads of class.

I am in love with this bowl! It has it
all, I just wanna put some fruit in there and be smug at how
beautiful it would look on my kitchen table! It's from Wind andWillow home, who have a large collection of home accessories
including cushions, plant pots and vases. What I love most though is
that they have a whole section for 'Dipped' products. What's that?
It's essentially bowls, candlesticks etc, dipped into paint just like
fit neon bowl is. How could it get any better I ask myself? They have
glittery bowls/candlesticks. Yes I repeat...glittery!! These
candlesticks are just to die for...and who thought that glitter could
be so classy!!

This absolute beast right here is the
Hi Ho rocking horse, lovingly designed by Jarrod Lim. Lim designed
this modern day take on the traditional rocking horse a few years ago
for Innermost. Now granted, it might not be what you would call a
traditional classic, but for me it is certainly going to be one! That
seamless transition from the victorian style rocking horse to the
modern contemporary piece of furniture which is fit for any home has
been done with complete grace and poise. The design is both mature
and childish at the same time. Unfortunately it is not suitable for
kids (bummer!) but Innermost have announced they will be making a
smaller version for kids in the near future! Yay!

Ahhh – the perfect blend of
simplicity, functionality and fitness! This lamp is actually just my
dream! It's so simple – has no frills whatsoever but still holds
the gaze. It has that pop of red cable at the back to give it a
little somethin-something. The shade is made from one piece of folded
steel to create an elegant silhouette . This is held down by a plain
pale wooden base which accentuates the warmth and soft light that
beams out. It's from Thinkk, a design studio based in Bangkok. It is
part of a collection called 'Workaholic', which includes some
stunning concrete plant pots and pendant lights.

I am completely in love with this
series of embroidered artworks from Michele Varian. They are not only
adorable but make me squirm with a strange pleasure/gross feeling.
It's called The Hungry Series, each piece is of a different large
animal and the contents of his stomach. So for example (my favourite)
the whale who swallowed a shark, who swallowed a peg leg captain, who had
earlier eaten a crab, who had just caught a fish! The style is simple
with just clean outlines and a little colour, but it's completely
perfect!

I must admit I try not to drink too
much wine, but sometimes I just can't resist a cheeky glass. This
decanter right here is the one, not only is it a brilliant piece of
engineering it's also fun and functional. The Rokos decanter tips to
angles of 3°,
60° and 104°, each time you pour a glass the angle changes. It
doesn't just do this for funsies either, wine needs to breathe in
order for it to be at the best quality. But how often can you open a
bottle and let it breathe for an hour without glugging it? Not very
often. The decanter encourages oxygen into the wine meaning it
breathes faster and more effectively than a standard decanter. This
is a brilliant addition for any dinner party host's kitchen,
combining the best way to serve wine and a wonderful piece of design
engineering!

I knew this would happen. The throw
obsession continues today with this lil beaut from Hay. It's called
the Mega Knit, and ohhhh it's so mega! It's inspired by a traditional
Norwegian sweater design which was originally designed by Marius
Genser. The pattern has been enlarged and given a refreshing colour
injection to create an absolutely gorgeous textiles piece. The simple
use of corals and purples are perfect for spring and create a
lighthearted addition to a chair or bed. It just cannot be described
a anything but delightful!

I was having a browse on Pintrest when
I saw this adorable little set up for a nursery. I love the bold
orange highlights with those soft tones of grey, they complement each
other beautifully. Then I spotted that cute little modernist mobile
and I thought “When I have kids – that's happening!” I had a
little hunt and found them on Etsy, they are from Kate Mae Designs. I
think it's weird for me to get one for my house now – but I'm
really tempted! I love the bold, simple design that works for any
baby...or adult?!

I have that strange feeling that I am
about to become obsessed with a new craze. It happened with copper,
it happened with ombre, it even happened with prints. Now it's about
to happen to throws. I keep seeing them, loving them and maybe
accidentally buying them! And these little stunners from Oyyo are
right up my dhurrie street! Each dhurrie is hand woven near Jodhpur
are is loving made using techniques and skills that date back
centuries. Owners Lina
Zedig and Marcus Åhrén combined their love for print and pattern to
create Oyyo in 2011, and have gone from strength to strength creating
beautiful pieces fit for any home. They will be opening up their
online store in May 2013 and I can't wait!!

It was about a week or so ago that I
shared the Pedal pod with you, now my weird craving for a bike
continues with these pretty fancy accessories from Brooks. They do
bike seats, bags, baskets the lot and all of them are darn stylish! I
still don't have a bike and know damn well if I got one I would be
too terrified to ride it, but I like the thought of having one on a
fancy hook with fancy accessories...is that bad? In particular I am
eyeing up their bootiful selection of saddles, each one is loving
designed and made, perfect for any type of riding you do. However,
they are $230 a pop – a girl can dream!
I have spent my week munching my way
slowly through the latest edition of Fire & Knives. This
hilarious, insightful, down right delicious little magazine is a
collection of some of the wittiest food writers around. Bringing
anything to the writing table from the history of couscous to a very
detailed description of the trials of cooking lobster. This has to be
my favourite quarterly read, it never fails to lighten my mood, and
always puts me in the mood to cook something wonderful and creative! Plus the design and illustration is always amazing. At the moment their website is being rebuilt, but their shop is still
open or you can buy Stack.

I have found myself proper perving over
these black and white vases. They are from Norman Copenhagen and are
called the Agnes range. I just love them so much, everything from
that big clunky shape to the rough paint splattered edges. I have to
admit I am getting a bit bored of the whole high-streety clean cut
look, anything that is a little quirky and has a handmade feel to it
is definitely in. These porcelain babes come in several different
sizes and look perfect mixed and matched together to create a little
set on a mantel piece or a table.

I am absolutely loving Society6! It's
what I can only describe as the best idea ever! It's an online
printing company of sorts, thousands of artists are featured and each
of their works can be printed onto several formats. So, for example I
have fallen in love with all of Sandra Dieckmann's work, I could get
it printed as an iPhone case, a tote or just on a canvas! Prices
sometimes vary a little between artists, but an iPad case is about
$25, not too shabby for an unique cover! Seriously...this needs to happen for me.

Today had been one of those pants days
where everything that could of gone wrong – did go wrong. I won't
go into detail, but put it this way my day started with me stepping
bare foot on a nail and ended with me eating an entire bag of
chocolate pretzels in 10 minutes. So I needed some serious
cheer-me-ups! I spent most of my evening browsing through the blog of
food magazine Condiment: Adventures in food and form. A relatively new mag on the block, Condiment
is all about a blend of Food, Creativity and Community. It's takes a
realistic approach that we don't live for food but rather that we
have to eat and it's enjoyable! It features some stunning photography
and has some pretty thought provoking ideas! I will most definitely
be venturing to buy a copy tomorrow!

I am already planning my summer
collection of purchases. Im so bored of the constant freezing toes,
slipping on ice and having to wear 5 layers that I am comforting
myself with the fact that it will soon be summer! I can see it now, me
sitting in front of a fan, reading my book with a nice glass of peach
ice tea in my hand. Preferably out of these fit glasses please! The
design is inspired by the Scandinavian weather, ice ice and more ice.
Imagine a frosty winter day (oh wait I don't have to imagine) you
place a glass outside and it immediately gets overtaken with ice
crystals. This is exactly what the Frost range from Stelton embodies.
I can taste the ice tea now!

Many times in the last few years that I
have lived in London I have wanted to get a bike and ride about. To
work, to the shops, anywhere my little peddling feet will take me.
But there is one fatal flaw, I am terrified! Not of cycling itself,
but of the traffic! I can just see myself going through a pot hole or
getting squished between buses! I don't have the balls for that sort
of daily hell. But I wish I did, just so I could actually buy a bike
and in turn buy a Pedal pod! Designer Tamasine Osher designed this
unique bike holder to solve the bike storage issue. For me it's the
perfect way of making something functional you use every day, into a
piece of art to adorn your walls. It features some cut little cubby
holes for extra storage too!

I think it is fair to say that we are
ALL obsessed with tote bags I mean they are so insanely cute, hold
all your 'I might need that!' stuff (umbrella, gloves, emergency
chocolate etc.) and feature some of the best artwork around! I love
these little food themed ones, called The Bon Appetite tote. It's a collaboration between A-thread and
They draw and cook. I have long been a fan of TDAC and their
colourful illustrated recipes, the fact I can now get that on a tote
just makes my life! I particularly love the chocolate apricot design,
not only does it make me dribble but they have also teamed up with
the World Food Program USA to feed 5 children with each tote you buy! Perfect-o!!

I am increasingly finding myself being
drawn to black and white at the moment. Maybe it's because winter is
STILL here, and I find myself reverting to a deep dark recess in my
house where everything is dark and cosy. But one good thing to come
from the cold, is the black and white love. Sometimes, less is more
(as my Mum always says!) and I think when it comes to ceramic design
that is most definitely true. I am loving this series from House ofRym, the tea pot is called No baby in a corner – classic! The
simple black scollop pattern is repeated onto teapots, sugar bowls
and cups and saucers to create the perfect winter tea time treat!

Confession time, I have spent a good 3
hours in the last two days browsing West Elm. It's become an
addiction! They do so much bootiful stuff and I want about 70% of it!
In particular I find myself oggeling at their vase collection. I have
never really been a huge lover of vases, I can never really find a
use for them and they just sort of sit about. However, this selection
of ceramic babes may have changed my mind! The geometric collection
is a mid-century inspired glazed blue selection of earthenware
beauties. They come in lots of different sizes and prices start at
£14 – madness!! And don't even get me started on the wooden ombre
and hive collections!! I can see me going vase shopping in the near
future...
