Stchu-Moon 03 pendant

I am thoroughly enjoying this new 'space' trend at the moment. The use of anything star, moon or galaxy related seems to be flying off the shelves lately, and I am certainly embracing it! I love this pendant from Catellani & Smith, who specialise is designer lighting. This lamp come pendant is called Stchu-Moon03 and is inspired by the shadows the moon creates. The aluminium frame is coated on the outside with a smooth layer of matt black and the inside with a bumpy silver or gold coloured leaf. I love how much drama and atmosphere can be created by the simplest of designs!

Encoded textiles from Raw Colour

When you look at this blue and whitepatterned fabric you might just thing 'Ahh cool another geometric pattern, I'm so down with that' At least that's what I thought...sort of. But on closer inspection it's actually a very detailed and complex design. This is an encoded piece of textiles. Each piece is made using a unique message which is sent to a cryptographer, this then translates each letter into code and creates a very personal message. Now this is what I call a romantic gift! Image a personally coded blanket, with a message only you know, cute! The geniuses behind this are Raw Colour a studio based in the netherlands, but they recruited help from various fields to make it a reality!

Toast pendant light

As I'm sure you know I live in a rented flat, so I am always on the look out for simple ways to make a rental look unique without miffing off the landlord! One thing which is always an issue is lighting, obviously you can't take down their lights and fit your own (unless you can be bothered) But these lights from Toast could be a pretty good solution! They are a simple fabric flex cord with a bare hand stitched filament bulb design. The end is fitted with a plug, so you can just plug it in and away you go! The cord is 300 cm so you can get a bit creative and hand them from the ceiling easily. I love the idea of having 4 or 5 in different colours all hung on hooks around the room.

Designer Extinguishers by Safe - T

I'm sure anyone who has ever been faced with the panic stricken moment of having to add safety features will appreciate this. Smoke detectors, sprinkles, fire extinguishers, all have to go into place but always look so hideous! Well fire extinguishers are no longer an issue! These 'designer extinguishers' are from DNC TAG and are called Safe -T. They are the perfect solution to what was a big issue! A lot of people just don't bother to have an extinguisher in their house (me included!) simply because they are nasty. But I would definitely be happy to have one of these Copper bad boys in the corner of my kitchen! They come in hundreds of designs, check them out here.

Designers Guild - Crayon

It's official I am in love with this wallpaper!! It's from Designers Guild and is part of their around the world collection. I just love it so much and I can't really explain why! It's called Crayon and is perfect for any room but chiefly a kids room. The wavy lines remind me of kids running along the wall with 5 crayons all lined up! It's playful, fun and full of character. It comes in 14 different colours including some metallic options. The gold and pearl options give a much more adult feel, they are classy and full of elegance. Whereas the pink and turquoise options are much more child friendly and playful. My favourite is probably between lime and blackboard, I don't even like bright green but I'm strangely drawn too this one! And as for the blackboard, that just backs up my child with 5 crayons hypothesis!

Sitting Rabbit mug

It has become pretty obvious too everyone in my house that I have an obsession with mugs. I just keep buying them! I see them and think 'OMG that would make the best tea mug!' This is always true, until I find the next best mug. But don't get me wrong I love all my mugs equally. Which is why I'm so tempted by this cute little rabbit mug! It's nice and big, has a good sized handle and is topped off by a cute little bunny rabbit peeping into the cup! Not only is he the perfect teabag winder but he also puts a smile on your face! What's not to love?! I found this little critter on Bird on a Wire.

MMMG Diary

I know that we are pretty far into the new year now, but I kind of feel like I'm working a few weeks behind everyone! I had my 'christmas break' last week and worked through christmas so it's kind of my new start this week! So it's only now that I have begun my yearly shop for a diary. A few things I like my diary to be is small, cute and witty/thought provoking. So last year I went for some cute little owls which was stupidly big and not very practical...maybe this year I should think before I buy. I love this one from MMMG, a Korean design company who span over many different areas of design. It's small, has a clear and concise layout and has a very serious air to it! I love the layout of each page, it's perfect too see your week and plan it all out beautifully! You can shop them at The Hach Shop.

oneBluedog - hand printed dog collar

Hulloooo everyone! I'm back from my beautiful week in Barcelona full of potato omelette, cathedrals and Picasso. We had lots of fun, but I'm glad to be back and writing!
So, today I wanted to share a company I found who make beautiful hand printed dog collars. They are oneBluedog a UK based company who hand print each and every collar they sell, and I love them! I don't have a dog (much to my disappointment) but I am obsessed with finding cute outfits/accessories for my future pups! These are the perfect hard wearing – down to earth accessory perfect for any dog whether it be chihuahua or a great dane! At the moment their website is undergoing construction but you can buy them from Bouf.

The Hemmesphere Lighting range

I've always found that the most simple mundane objects are the best for inspiration. Take these amazing lamps from Massow Designs, they are part of The Hemmesphere Lighting range. The teardrop (above) draws inspiration from the simple form of the lightbulb to create a stunning silhouette using wood. It combines the functionality and the industrial style of a bare bulb. I love the versatility of it and that amazing shadow it casts onto the wall. It also comes in different shapes and sizes, but the teardrop is by far my favourite!

Ps: I'm currently on my way to Barcelona for a week of gawking at Architecture and galleries, eating lots of amazing tapas...plus probably drinking far too much wine! So I will see you all next weekend!

Petite Friture - Swell

So, one thing that is becoming shockingly obvious is that I have formed some weird obsession with everything concrete. Seriously, anything that is made from concrete i'm all over! Take these little trays I saw them and thought 'Huh, yeah cute' then saw they where made from concrete and was like 'YES!! I have to post them!' I think it's an addiction. These little desk organisers are from Petite Friture from the collection Swell. They are named for the slight wave effect you sometimes get in concrete, they are small, neat and the perfect accessory for any desk. I especially like the clock and book ends, I love that dark sultry grey!
